Financial Aid

: An application for financial aid for school

Federal loan financial aid qualification is based on economic need, while private loans are usually based on credit history and how much you earn (so your lender can gauge how likely you will be to pay the loan back). Each loan has its own set of criteria, but qualifying for student loans is easy so long as you:

  • Are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Have a valid Social Security number
  • Are a student enrolled in an eligible school or program

Additional Educational Requirements

There are different types of loans specifically designed for undergraduate, graduate or professional students. You usually must be enrolled as a half or full-time student to be eligible.
